Jackie Chan (born in 7th of April, in 1954)

This person needs no introduction. The most recognizable actor from the famous comedy action movies. His fan’ clubs collect over 15,000 fans, but how he achieved this goal?

J. Chan was born in 1954 in Hong Kong city. Chan Kong-Sang his real name which means “born in Hong Kong” was given by his parents.

His first debut took place when he was 8 years old, in Cantonese movie “Big and Little Wong Tin Bar”.  After this Hong Kong movie industry began to fail. Jackie faced with some problems and went with his parents to Australia working as labor until he met Willie Chan (who became his friend and manager). Willie invited him to come back to Hong Kong and started again his actor carrier. Those new movies that were offered by Willie Chan unfortunately weren’t successful.

Somehow after the death of martial art legend Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan was something new because he came up with his own idea of combination martial art and humor. Actually there were a lot of Asian guys who tried to duplicate Bruce Lee but despite of this Jackie Chan just showed his talent and creativity. That was new door to success for Jackie. “I just do the best I can” Chan says modestly. 

Chan’s enthusiasm and talent helped him to find necessary roles for him. All those factors helped him to be second unit director and that happened before his 20^th birthday. 

Nowadays Jackie Chan is still one of the most famous actors across Asia and America. "For the past fifteen years, I’ve gone almost nonstop," Chan says. "As soon as I finish one movie, they start filming the next. Sometimes, they give me one week’s holiday, and then I'm flying back to Hong Kong to start talking about my next film."

As we can see Jackie Chan is not afraid of risks, he likes to try new roles and he has never EVER asked for a stuntman. He actually was a stuntman when he was in Australia with his parents.

Michael Phelps (born 30th of June in 1985)

A legendary sportsman who is now the owner of a World record with 22 Olympic Games medals Michael Phelps takes a very important place in the sport history. Starting his career as a professional swimmer in a teenage Michael shortly set up new World records in different disciplines. This unique sportsman started gaining his success with a great passion to win and always be the first. Definitely, this ability might be an ideal for a person who wants to achieve the goals and work as much hard as it is needed. Being always motivated to become the best ambitious Michael was developing his skills more and more by hardworking trainings. It seems that tactic and confidence made him a superstar at the Athens Olympic Games winning eight medals six of which were gold. That was a beginning of his great success in the most prestigious sport competition. Michael Phelps says there are a few rules he has used through the way of success which are: preparation, the will to win, persistence and obsession, and focusing. These are the keys that helped this swimmer get the world-wide fame and win 22 medals during three Olympic Games. In 2004, when Phelps came third to the finish, somehow that experience affected his career in a good way. Thus, losing motivated him to work harder trying to swim faster and beat the opponents during the next Games. Secondly, Michael spend a lot of time on preparation, because It comes down to deciding what’s important to you and in realizing that while ‘practice may not make perfect, it will make better.’

Work backwards from the end goal, and decide what steps need to be taken and make a plan to follow through with it. Moreover, in order to reach such success it is really important to keep focusing on training and better results. It is about to stick to one thing and always push trough to the end until it is complete and done. According to Phelps, focusing has been responsible for most results he has achieved. Finally, one of Michael’s abilities that he has developed through his career is persistence and obsession. It’s easy for us to look at successful people at what they do and because they make it look so simple, we think that they have some innate talent or magical ability to do it. That’s either because you don’t think you can succeed, or because you don’t want to think of success as work.

Conrad Nicholson Hilton (1926-1969)

Hilton had faced with some failures before he became the most successful hotels’ magnate.  Actually, His major was engineering, but never working in this sphere he preferred to do some crook business, that gave him only bad experience. Anything that he started at the end gave him nothing.

In spite of this Hilton was very business acumen which means he knew how to make money. Conrad showed his talent when he was a child while working in his fathers’ grocery.

As a brilliant person he wanted something better for himself, he knew that he will be successful businessman .

He was 31 years old when he became a milliner and when everybody remembered his name “HILTON”. In 1919 he bought his first hotel, which was in very poor and bad condition with ridiculous design. Actually it quite difficult to call it hotel, but as a entrepreneur, he made that hotel profitable.

Conrad said:” Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don't quit.”

He was inspired by his first success experience which gave him his hotel. He forgot about banking, he deeply swam in to hotel business. The first Hilton Hotel launched in 1925 at Dallas city.

During the 1950s and 1960s, Hilton Hotels' worldwide expansion facilitated both American tourism and overseas business by American corporations. At the same time, it promulgated a certain worldwide standard for hotel accommodations. It was the world's first international hotel chain. In all, Hilton eventually owned 188 hotels in thirty-eight cities in the U.S.

By the 1960s the company reorganized its foreign operations, going into partnership with outside corporations and foreign governments. Many Hilton hotels became franchises or were only partially owned by the Hilton chain. Conrad Hilton was succeeded as president of the corporation by his son Barron in 1966.

Nowadays the owner of huge corporation has more than hundred hotels among the world. His success as the number of his hotels increase annually. This is obviously one of the examples that shows how entrepreneur is able to achieve success with the help of intellect and motivation.

Muhammad Ali (born 17th of January in 1942.)

His legendary story began in 1954. One day a twelve years old boy – Cassius found out his bicycle had been stolen. Very disappointed he came to the police officer Joe Martin telling how much he wanted to find and beat that thief. Joe reminded to the ambitious boy that in order to go fight he had to learn how to do it first and invited Cassius to join his boxing team. Soon after only six weeks of training the young boxer had his first fight and won it. By this way, he started train more winning all the competitions. During Olympic Games 1960 that were held in Rome Clay beat world’s best boxers and became a champion.  We are talking about the legendary boxer who later changed his name Cassius Clay into Muhammad Ali.

He always had an absolutely unique style of boxing that distinguished him from other fighters. Not only physical abilities, but also his insistence, self-confidence and courage helped him to become a heavyweight World Champion in professional boxing at the age of only 22. During his boxing career that lasted for 21 years Muhammad spent 61 fights, 56 of which were won. Ali says that dreaming and fantasizing were the key motivators in his success. Saying that he wants people know that sportsman becomes a champion not in the gym, but it is born from something that he has in the soul – a great desire. Muhammad Ali also became “the greatest” because he had this unique vision of the success somewhere deep inside.

“A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did  at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life”, “he, who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life”. These are the legendary quotes said by Ali. He believes in order to be successful there is always a need of change. All the time everything around changes thus people have to take a risk and grow up and improve. From teenage Mohammed was always motivated and goal-orientated. He knew and believed he would be the great boxer and he finally achieved this goal as nobody could be better in what he did.
